Anthony addresses the citizens as Friends, Romans, countrymen (Act 3: Scene 2) in contrast to Brutus who addressed them as Romans, countrymen and lovers. This variance, although slight, shows a major contrast in the attitudes of Brutus and Anthony. As the speech progresses Anthony repetitively mentions the nobility and honour of Brutus and those that assisted him in the murder of Caesar. However Anthonys true intent was not to dignify Brutus and the other conspirators, rather to debase them. Anthony does this by making honour appear as a deterrent to seeing the good actions of an individual. He mentions honour alongside the killing of a man who brought many captives home, hath wept and thrice refused the crown. This technique that Anthony used was very effective as can be observed from the proclamation of one of the plebeians that They were traitors: honourable men? Then, after mentioning the virtues of Caesar, Anthony condemns the belief of anybody who said that Caesar was ambitious because Ambition should be made of sterner stuff (Act 3: Scene 2). Later Anthony turns the speech onto a fabricated will. This will was a deceitful lie which the crowd were instantly attracted to and eager to hear their share. This lie demonstrates how fickle the crowd are because they are now more willing to believe in Anthonys integrity. They did not pause to reflect whether the will is genuine or not as this may lead to doubts which will consequently lead to the will not being read out and therefore no one being the recipient of the seventy five drachmas promised. At first, Anthony does not read to them the will even after the constant pleas of the crowd. This is indicative of the fact that he only fabricated the will as bait because he wanted to hold them in suspense and keep them enthralled in whatever he had to say. Furthermore Anthony remarks I fear I wrong the honourable men whose dagger have stabbed Caesar: I do fear it Anthony pretends to feel guilty. By pretending he knows the order in which Caesar was stabbed, Anthony would be confident that he has the trust of his audience because the crowd would think that he knows all the facts and thus is in a better position to make a judgement. Furthermore Anthony refers to Brutus as being beloved and Caesars angel, which would make the audience feel great animosity towards Brutus, who although so dear to Caesar, betrayed him. From this, it can be understood clearly that Anthony is appealing to the emotions of the citizens and not logical reasoning to rebel against the conspirators. To show his innocence and his pure intention to stand for justice, Anthony claims I am no orator as Brutus is; but a plain blunt man I have neither writ nor words, nor worth, action, nor utterance, nor the power of speech, to stir mens blood. (Act 3: Scene ) Judging from this, the crowd may have deduced that Anthony is more reliable than Brutus because his speech was directly from the heart and not because he had the power of speech as did Brutus. He would also appear as an innocent man who wishes nothing except justice to prevail. Concepts of Health: Analysis of the Family Health concepts in my family are very important. My family is consisting of three people, just my parents and me as other siblings have been married off. We believe that health is how we maintain ourselves every day and how we take care of our needs and important resources such as water, food and shelter. Well-being is considered to be how we take care of our relationships with each other. We believe that our spiritual beliefs and our thinking shape us on our behavior and attitude. Health and wellbeing in my family is also affected by how we feel most of the time. In my life, family means a lot and they are the reason why I want to study and become someone better and they are also the reason for my existence. Without them my life is not possible and my family has been with me more than anyone else as they really understand me very well. Basically, my family is my resource for my everyday life and they are my number one needs and wants. When I looked at my family I see lots of hope in their eyes for me and I want to make sure that I am able to fulfill those hopes one day. Family is said to be working like chains which is repeated every now and then. My family belief it is best to be united with each other and this is done by either a small prayer on Tuesday at any one’s place or by a small get together every weekend. We bring gifts and sweets to each other’s place whenever any gathering happens. From a nursing perspective I will ensure that the patients I am working with will have their family around them because I really understand what family means and they are the only thing we all wish when unwell. Friends are important to me because they are the ones I turned up to when in trouble or when I am lost and not sure of what I want. They are the only people I share my feelings with when I know that it is not safe to share at home or with any of the family members. They are always there for me like a family and I consider them as my sisters since both of them are older than me and they have always taken care of me as a little sister. For me, having true friends like them is a blessing and something to be proud of. Only true friends will stand during good and bad times and also face the rough phases of our lives and they are ones who can bring laughter and joy in our life (friendshipscolours,. n.d). My friends enhance my health as they always are there to support me and give me the right treatment. Whenever I talk to them I get mentally relaxed and feel prepared to fight any problem. From my nursing perspective, I believe that friends can help one to recover soon and they are the biggest support other than families. I would like to encourage my patients and try to become their friend but in staying in my professional limit all the time. The one in middle is eleven years old and her name is Anusha, the boy is nine years old and his name is Chetan whereas the one in the side is six years old and she is Shivwali. These children are very important to me and they mean my life not because I am their aunty but because how they see me. They consider me not less than their mum as all three of them shares things with me, their feelings and we all have our little secrets with each other. Some kids also find talking to their aunties more easier than talking to their mum (home and family, n.d.). I have seen them growing up and I am really proud to say that they are the best children I have ever seen and no one can replace them in my life not even my own kids when I will have my own family. They hold a very special place in my life and these children are full of life and are very innocent. My nieces and nephews health and wellbeing are very important to me because if anything happens to them I will not be able to handle it and also their wellbeing and health affects my health and wellbeing. When they are sick or having any troubles I feel the pain aswell because I feel emotionally connected with them. For example; in 2011 when Chetan broke his arm and was in pain for many days, I was not able to concreate on my studies and even though I was at school my mind was with him full time. Whenever I communicate with them and I see them I feel relaxed and I feel that yes I got a reason to live for. They are my inspirational and my motivation, they are the ones who have taught me to live life and also taught how to fight towards any odd. From nursing perspective, I will make sure that all my patients also have a inspiration in their life to make them wanting to live and get better. It may not only be the patients who are sick and suffering from illness but also the ones who are mentally and emotional disturbed and I am also interested i working with patients like them. I saw how much they loved me and how much they had cared for me than I realized that when small children know how to live and love everyone than why us adults cannot be strong enough. I will try to treat my patients with the same love and care I have for my little ones and hopefully be able to teach them the valuable means of life my nieces and nephew have taught me. Just how these kids have saved my life once I want to save m any lives ahead. Figure 4. Temple Photo, (2015). Google Images. This is a photo of temple for us Indians and it is a scared place. Temple is said to be a place where we can find answers to all our questions and a place where we can also find peace. I personally like going to temple because for me I can relax and communicate with our gods. That heart to heart communication between me and my gods is very important because I share all my problems with them but not with the intention of getting it solved but receiving the strength to be strong during my fight. It is my family belief that when god has given us problems than he has also open doors to many solutions, but we just need to relax and find those ways to the doors of the solution. And also we have a mini temple at our home to worship gods and keep their photos and statues. I have noticed that whenever I talk to gods I can always see some differences on their faces, I do not find it stranger because it might be because that is how I see it. My wellbeing and health is affect by my beliefs in go ds because whenever I am sick I know that god will recover me in any way and that sharing my problems with them gives me a peace of mind and gives me hope and strength. Trusting god is like a belief that he has the power to help you and he will help you (Joyce Meyer, n.d) From a nursing perspective I believe that every individual will have belief like i do and these beliefs can enhance their health and wellbeing. Research shows that people who have spiritual beliefs have less chances of stress and do not think of harming themselves at all, they may get depressed in difficult solutions but their spiritual beliefs will keep them going (The Nemours Foundation, 2015). I would respect their beliefs because I know that their spiritual belief can enhance their health and wellbeing like it does to me. I will also encourage my patients to follow their spiritual beliefs and make sure that they meet their needs on time. Figure 5. Glucose meter, (2015). Google Images. This is a photo of a glucose machine which is used for measuring sugar levels in the blood. This machine will tell the amount of glucose in blood just by putting a drop of blood on a strip and inserting in the machine, the meter can generate the results in either two ways. One way is where it will measure the amount of electricity which is in the sample or the other one is where it will measure the amount of light reflects from the sample (MedicineNet, n.d). Maintaining sugar levels is very important to me because my dad is a diabetic patient. He has type two diabetic and his sugar levels is high most the time. He is not allowed to eat sweets and anything that contains sugar in it. My family is also strict on that matter with dad and dad always gets scolding whenever he tries to eat sweets. Diabetes affects me and my family’s health and wellbeing because it worries us about dad’s health and also that it is in our genes so we are scared most of the time that we children and our children in future will not have it. It affects our wellbeing because dad always wants to have sweets as he likes to eat sweets and when he is not able to eat than he gets angry and sad. We know that he is mentally disturbed and worried and he is craving for sweets but unfortunately we cannot do much help to him. From my nursing perspective, I will make sure that all of my patients sugar levels are normal and whoever has diabetes I would like them to view it as positive thing than a negative one because if they will take it negatively than they will not want the treatment for it and diabetes will kill them emotionally and mentally inside. Some patients might feel afraid of it and some might also feel depressed too but I will try to be on their side all the time and help them fight diabetes. When the person who has diabetes has the support and love of close ones than they are better to manage it probably as it is hard to fight disease like that alone ( National Diabetes Education Program, n.d) Figure 6. Music (2015),. Google Images Music is something which is important to me and my health and wellbeing. I love music and I believe that it relaxes me and makes me forget my problems for a while. Music is very beneficial because it can lead to creatively, it is the language of the universe, it has spiritual powers, and it can change moods and music brings people together (dotan negrin, n.d.). Music is also important because it is in our culture as well. We Hindus sing songs for gods at every occasion, and it is a belief that you get more close to gods and pleased them with music. Most of the mantra we say while praying is in songs so we pray to gods while singing songs and playing some music instruments. Music affects my wellbeing and health because whenever I am upset or sad I listen to music and I get relaxed and I try to forget my problems and gather the strength to fight it back. Music plays the same role in my life which temple and gods do. When in problem or not in good mood I take them on board and they make me feel relax. Also health wise, when I am sick or not feeling well I try listening to music which works for me as I start feeling better and maybe not start recovering but I feel fresh and alive. From my nursing perspective, I believe that music can help in treatment and I am saying this from my own personal experience. I will try encouraging my patients to listen to music of their own choice to help them feel better. Research has shown that music has worked its magic in the past and it has been used to get people back to their right state of mind and it has reduced stress and tension in patients (Collingwood, J. 2007). I am sure that we all like music and songs and it is going to be advantage to me while treating my patients in future because I am going to make them listen to music and let them relax. In conclusion my health and wellbeing is affected by my family, friends, my nieces and nephews, our Indian temple, glucose meter and music. During the era of the weak emperor Taisho (1912-26), the political power shifted from the oligarchic clique (genro) to the parliament and the democratic parties. In the First World War, Japan joined the Allied powers, but played only a minor role in fighting German colonial forces in East Asia. At the following Paris Peace Conference of 1919, Japan's proposal of amending a "racial equality clause" to the covenant of the League of Nations was rejected by the United States, Britain and Australia. Arrogance and racial discrimination towards the Japanese had plagued Japanese-Western relations since the forced opening of the country in the 1800s, and were again a major factor for the deterioration of relations in the decades preceeding World War 2. In 1924, for example, the US Congress passed the Exclusion Act that prohibited further immigration from Japan. After WW1, Japan's economical situation worsened. The Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 and the world wide depression of 1929 intensified the crisis. During the 1930s, the military established almost complete control over the government. Many political enemies were assassinated, and communists persecuted. Indoctrination and censorship in education and media were further intensified. Navy and army officers soon occupied most of the important offices, including the one of the prime minister. Already earlier, Japan followed the example of Western nations and forced China into unequal economical and political treaties. Furthermore, Japan's influence over Manchuria had been steadily growing since the end of the Russo-Japanese war of 1904-05. When the Chinese Nationalists began to seriously challenge Japan's position in Manchuria in 1931, the Kwantung Army (Japanese armed forces in Manchuria) occupied Manchuria. In the following year, "Manchukuo" was declared an independent state, controlled by the Kwantung Army through a puppet government. In the same year, the Japanese air force bombarded Shanghai in order to protect Japanese residents from anti Japanese movements. In 1933, Japan withdrew from the League of Nations since she was heavily criticized for her actions in China. In July 1937, the second Sino-Japanese War broke out. A small incident was soon made into a full scale war by the Kwantung army which acted rather independently from a more moderate government. The Japanese forces succeeded in occupying almost the whole coast of China and committed severe war atrocities on the Chinese population, especially during the fall of the capital Nanking. However, the Chinese government never surrendered completely, and the war continued on a lower scale until 1945.

Chapters 11-16 of the novel Essay

Frankenstein is a novel written by Mary Shelley in the late 17th century which depicts a story about a scientist in Geneva who becomes obsessed with creating life. In his journey he comes across some notes of a professor in which specific notions on creating a living creature are contained. With these notes and his wild imagination Frankenstein puts together parts of corpses and revolutionises science by successfully creating a living creature. However, all is not merry, as Frankenstein realises his creation is disparate to human beings but that he has transformed what was once a dead corpse into a wretched monster. After abandoning his creation and later trying to kill it so as to cover up his unworthy work, Frankenstein effectively drives the monster out of his lab to fend for himself. At the end of Chapter 10 the reader is given Frankenstein’s view of his creation; he says ‘breathless horror and disgust filled my heart’ at this very point we begin to see Frankenstein’s dream to create life disappear and the reader is left feeling as horrified and disgusted as Frankenstein, towards the monster. Frankenstein continues his horrid reaction by stating ‘a thing such as Dante could not have conceived’ this phrase puts to light the actual horror of the monster because Frankenstein states that even Dante, a fantasist of evil, was not able to come up with such a creation. In Chapters 11 to 16 of the novel we see the epic voyage through the eyes of the monster as Shelley adopts the persona of the monster. Shelly’s portrayal of the monster in this distinguished technique helps us to better understand what the monster thinks and how his emotions change as he becomes more conscious of himself and his surroundings. Our feelings towards the monster change significantly and we begin to see a very different and unexpected side of him. The monster begins by telling us about his first memory of himself; he says that ‘a strange multiplicity of sensations seized me, and I saw, felt, heard and smelt at the same time’ this portrays the monster as a new born baby learning about the simple senses that all humans use. As the monster introduces us to his first day in the woods he says that ‘I felt tormented by hunger and thirst’ this illustrates the monster as a normal person who has to feed himself to live. Also the monster tells us ‘feeling pain invade me on all sides, I sat down and wept’ here we are able to distinctively see that the monster is no more different than a small child as both cry when they seem to find no remedy for their pain. Also we are introduced to the feelings of the monster which come to play a very important role in his later life. As we become more learned about the monsters feelings and actions we are presented by the more intellectual and able side. He begins by telling as that he is able to distinguish between insects and herbs and continues to show how rapidly he is able to learn by differentiating one herb from another. This shows the immense intellect of the monster and also makes the reader more attached since there becomes a similarity between the monster and humans. The monster tells us that he ‘began also to observe, with greater accuracy, the forms that surrounded me’ this shows that the monster is able to process his sight with major accuracy and is able to learn about his surroundings easily. He continues to say ‘my mind received every day additional ideas’ now we are able to understand that the monster has the ability of thought and has an imagination, the one attribute that differentiates humans from all other creatures. As we continue we see that the monster is able to learn physically from its mistakes, ‘I thrust my hand into the live embers, but quickly drew it out again with a cry of pain’ this once again represents the human like intellect of the monster being able to assess mistakes so as not to repeat it again. Furthermore, the monster inhabits the nature of cooking as he experiments with his newly found fire, he begins to see that the ‘berries were spoiled from this operation, and the nuts and roots much improved’. The actual mental intellectual ability of the monster is portrayed by Shelley as the monster inhabits in the cottage of the De Lacey’s. Here the monster is educated to the language of his fellow inhabitants who he reluctantly segregates himself due to being in doubt of acceptance from them. The monster begins his quest to understand the language of his company by observing their sound and actions. He says ‘I found that these people possessed a method of communicating their experience and feelings to one another by articulate sounds. ‘ However we are also presented with the less able understanding of the monster as he struggles to understand the words connected with feeling such as ‘good’, ‘dearest’ and ‘unhappy’. This once again clearly exposes the monster with human like intelligence since it needs to be able to experience feelings to be able to understand it. We are introduced to a new member of the family, an Arabian, who is unable to speak the language and thus is taught by her companions and at the same time the monster is able to educate himself as he eavesdrops between the holes in the walls separating his feeble habitation from the family’s cottage. The monster learns all his facts and details of humans and logic by listening to the various texts and conversations of the De Lacey family. He says ‘I obtained a cursory knowledge of history†¦ it gave me an insight to the different manners, governments and religions of the different nations of the earth’. Shelley portrays the monsters thoughts and feelings at this new acquired knowledge in a very intense way. The monster begins to question the very being that he is ‘what was I? †¦ I was, besides, endued with a figure hideously deformed and loathsome’. Here we begin to see that the monster becomes evident of his deformity. From the beginning of the monsters tale to the very end we are introduced to the lonely figure and outcast to society that the monster exists as. The first evidence of the social disregard comes from Frankenstein himself, after he realises that he has created nothing but a monster, he abandons his creation and kicks him out of the lab. From then on the monster is faced with negligence from every human who he unfortunately appears in front of. The monster is very adamant at questioning himself to the reality to his being. He says ‘And what was I? Of my creation and creator I was absolutely ignorant’, here we begin to realise that the monster begins to get upset about his lonely being. This interrogation that the monster puts to him leads him to become upset and we see his emotions beginning to cloud his judgement. ‘Was I then a monster, a blot upon the earth, from which all man fled, and whom all men disowned? ‘ the monster is able to understand his position in the human society here, as he examines the actual creature that he is presented as to humans.
